Deep Pre-Release Blitz

Excerpt #2
“Where have you been?” My sister rushed forward, catching me up in a tight hug. “I’ve been trying to call you all day. We checked everywhere and couldn’t find you.”
“Sorry. I just needed some alone time.” I squeezed her back, unable to stop from smiling. The thought of Anne turning her back on me had scared me more than I liked to admit.
“Well, I get you might want that.” She stepped back. “But you could have told someone.”
“You can’t just disappear like that.” And Ben kept right on frowning. “Shit, Liz, you’re pregnant.”
“Don’t upset her,” snapped Anne.
Ben ignored her. “I don’t know what the hell’s going on in your head. But you need to let me know where you are.”
My eyebrows went up and my mouth opened, ready to rip him a new one.
“She doesn’t answer to you. She’ll let you know if and when she decides to let you know,” said Mal, laying down the law to his bandmate before turning my way. “You will text your sister next time you decide to go wandering for a day, understood?”
My mouth, it still hung open.
“Christ, man.” Over and over, Ben’s hands rolled into tight fists before releasing again. “Can you cut the shit and get off my back for a fucking minute?”
“Don’t swear at him.” My usually sensible and staid sister poked a finger dead center in Ben’s broad chest. “You’re the one that caused this mess, thank you very much. She might still be a little young and naive, but you’re definitely old enough to know better.”
“That’s right.” Standing about as tall as a skyscraper, despite only coming up to Ben’s nose, Mal stared him down. Or up. Whatever. “This is a family matter. You can leave, thanks.”

Positive. With two little lines on a pregnancy test, everything in Lizzy Rollins' ordinary life is about to change forever. And all because of one big mistake in Vegas with Ben Nicholson, the irresistibly sexy bass player for Stage Dive. So what if Ben's the only man she's ever met who can make her feel completely safe, cherished, and out of control with desire at the same time? Lizzy knows the gorgeous rock star isn't looking for anything more permanent than a good time, no matter how much she wishes differently.

Ben knows Lizzy is off limits. Completely and utterly. She's his best friend's little sister now, and no matter how hot the chemistry is between them, no matter how sweet and sexy she is, he's not going to go there. But when Ben is forced to keep the one girl he's always had a weakness for out of trouble in Sin City, he quickly learns that what happens in Vegas, doesn't always stay there. Now he and Lizzie are connected in the deepest way possible...but will it lead to a connection of the heart?

Meet Ben and Lizzy on March 31st!

As the lead singer of Stage Dive, Jimmy is used to getting whatever he wants, whenever he wants it, whether it's booze, drugs, or women. However, when a PR disaster serves as a wake-up call about his life and lands him in rehab, he finds himself with Lena, a new assistant to keep him out of trouble.

Lena's not willing to take any crap from the sexy rocker and is determined to keep their relationship completely professional, despite their sizzling chemistry. But when Jimmy pushes her too far and Lena leaves, he realizes that he may just have lost the best thing that ever happened to him.

______________

Lead is such a fantastic read. Each book in Kylie Scott's Stage Dive series just gets better and better. What I loved about Lead was how the romance was drawn out; Lena and Jimmy seem to fight over everything, they don't even seem to like each other all that much. Nothing was rushed and I felt so much more anticipation while reading. Their chemistry is combustible when they finally decide to do something about it.

Being able to learn so much about Jimmy and Lena first was great. Lena is witty and sarcastic, always countering his bad moods with humour. She's able to see past the cocky facade Jimmy has, to the vulnerable man inside. I loved that Lena was a bigger girl, she felt more real. Especially when she talks about her body image and that she loves pie a little too much. I love how she's never afraid to speak her mind.

As the story progresses we learn more and more about Jimmy and why he is the way he is. It's easy to see why Lena falls in love with him. Of course, he also gives you plenty of reason to want to smack him upside the head. I think Jimmy has to be my favourite of the Stage Dive boys. He's got a hard shell, but once you get past it you find he's  sweet and sensitive. The fact that he's basically sex on legs doesn't hurt either. He certainly knows how to use his hands and mouth.

Lead does not disappoint. Kylie brings her trademark humour to the pages, along with a healthy dose of emotion and steam. I'm really looking forward to seeing how she's going to top this one. I can't wait for Ben's story in Deep. Bring on 2015!

Cover Reveal - Play by Kylie Scott

I can't wait for PLAY! I think Lick was one of my favourite reads of 2013, and if all the excerpts Kylie has been posting are anything to go by, then Play is going to be just as fantastic.

Play by Kylie Scott
Description
Kylie Scott returns with the highly anticipated follow-up to international bestseller LICK.

Mal Ericson, drummer for the world famous rock band Stage Dive, needs to clean up his image fast—at least for a little while. Having a good girl on his arm should do the job just fine. Mal doesn’t plan on this temporary fix becoming permanent, but he didn’t count on finding the one right girl.

Anne Rollins never thought she’d ever meet the rock god who plastered her teenage bedroom walls—especially not under these circumstances. Anne has money problems. Big ones. But being paid to play the pretend girlfriend to a wild life-of-the-party drummer couldn’t end well. No matter how hot he is. Or could it?

Age Group: New Adult

Waking up in Vegas was never meant to be like this.

Evelyn Thomas’s plans for celebrating her twenty-first birthday in Las Vegas were big. Huge. But she sure as hell never meant to wake up on the bathroom floor with a hangover to rival the black plague, a very attractive half-naked tattooed man, and a diamond on her finger large enough to scare King Kong. Now if she could just remember how it all happened.

One thing is for certain, being married to rock and roll’s favourite son is sure to be a wild ride.

***************
Lick, the first book in Kylie Scott’s Stage Dive NA contemporary series is all kinds of awesome. This is the first NA book I’ve read, I’m not that convinced of the category, but if this is what I can look forward to, I may have been converted.

Everyone loves a sexy, tattooed rock star and David Ferris is more than you could hope for.  He’s the guitarist for Stage Dive, the hottest rock band going around. Evelyn accidentally wakes up married to Mr Hot Stuff after a slightly alcohol fuelled 21st birthday in Las Vegas. Of course she’s taken aback by the marriage and that she’s married to pretty much the hottest guy she’s ever seen. (Trust me, David is so many kinds of hot!) The very first page draws you into Evelyn’s mind and it’s a funny, sexy, steamy road from then on.

Evelyn is the good girl with a plan. She lives at home and is studying to be an architect. I really liked Evelyn’s character; she’s tall, curvy, mature and isn’t afraid to speak her mind. She’s a real girl with real insecurities. Getting married in Vegas does not fit in her plan and she thinks she can just sweep it under the rug, but when the paparazzi get a hold of the news her life as she knows it is now over. I love how she handles her situation and I’m not sure I could deal as well as she does. Hoping to get her marriage annulled ASAP is the only thing on her mind when David calls and offers for her to stay with him until all the paperwork and the hype dies down. After they spend a few steamy days together at David’s house, getting to know one another Ev starts to have feelings for him. David is more than a swoon inducing character, he is a make you forget your name-pantie twisting-drool inducing man that will have you wanting to go out to score your own piece of hot rock star. They agree not to annul the wedding, but of course there are plenty of secrets and trust issues (mostly David’s) they have to work through before they can be a proper couple. I was turning pages almost faster than I could read, hoping with my whole heart these two characters got their happily ever after.

Lick is filled with enough angst, drama and blush inducing scenes that will not disappoint. Lick is a one sitting read that will have glued to the pages and forgetting about everything around you; bodily functions, housework, children and needy pets will fall by the wayside whilst you finish this book. I love the way Kylie tells her stories and can’t wait for book two in this series. If, like me, you’re not keen on the New Adult category, give Lick a go and tell me you won’t be giving the genre another try.
